Whether you are looking for top investment newsletters or the best investment tips for 2012 I’m working hard to make this a top investing resource page for 2012 and beyond.  I’m compiling a list myself of the top investing information I’ve found online over the past few years and I invite you to share your own investing resource or one that you feel is one of  the best you read or rely on.

I’m a strong advocate of learning from those who know because they’ve done it.  Let’s face it everyone has an opinion and that’s fine, but when you are considering where to put your money or time you better be learning from someone who is sharing experiential knowledge not theory.  So far I’ve found most of the best investing tips I’ve gotten are simple BUT they almost all require a first hand knowledge of the industry or connection with someone who does. Not to be confused with insider trading (which is illegal) having personal knowledge or an industry (not a specific investment) is key to making smart choices when it comes to investing.

Best Investment Newsletters and Info

The best investment newsletters or websites seem to focus on one niche or topic, like I said, the problem with this is that they are spread all over the web and it can be difficult to tell if the information is credible.  If you have first hand knowledge of a top investment newsletter, investment website, or any other publication that overs the best investing information in a given niche, industry or strategy I’m asking you to share it here. I’d like you to make sure that the resource you are sharing is active and current.  Don’t just leave affiliate links to investing products around the web to earn money, share good stuff it’s that simple.

Why Share Investing Tips?

Why should you share you favorite investing newsletters or websites with others?  Well…. because it’s good karma.

No, all kidding aside, more and more people are taking their financial futures into their own hands (including you buddy) and sharing your ideas and experience along with resources is a great way to play an active role in what I believe is a solution for millions of Americans.  You might think of it this way too, if you are already invested and earning good returns over time, it may help your ROI if more people become aware of your investment strategy, stock, newsletter or resource, right?

Get More Investment Newsletter Subscribers

Another no-brain-er reason to share your own investment newsletter with the world is to get more subscribers, apparently that is cool and turns into revenue. I still haven’t mastered this myself but It’s said to be the point of having a newsletter in the first place.  Most of the top newsletters and investing websites I have come across have a solid person behind them that is truly passionate about their niche and pays a lot more attention to detail than (or you) because of it.  Besides the web is for sharing valuable information and investing information, by nature, can be valuable.   There I’ve made my case and now I would like you to share your free investing tips so I can share it with the visitors here and my newsletter subscribers (all 7 of them j/k)

Share Your Investing Newsletter~How it Works

OK if you personally publish an investment newsletter or own an investing website that shares strategies or tips mention that in the comment of this post.  If are simply recommending an investing resource then note that in your comment as well.  Also if you know the “niche” of the newsletter or website please note that as well.  Some popular investing ideas for 2012 might be (but aren’t limited too)  gold, silver, stocks, mutual funds, strategy, philosophy, etc.

As we compile more recommendations I’ll edit this page and list them in groups that make sense and are easy to find different investments by type or niche. It’s pretty simple so if you want to share an investing resource that is available online or off Go and do so now.  Over the next three months I’m doing a report on my personal investment strategies over the past 15 years that focus mostly on investing in small businesses and tend toward a sweat equity model.  I’ll talk about a couple traditional business and some online business models I’ve personally invested in.  I’ll share where I really screwed up, what I wish I had done differently and what I consider wins.

I’ve recently been working with a young investor and investment writer who is putting together a great membership site on investing, retirement, and creating a smart investment portfolio yourself.  He is a skeptic investor and promotes an investment strategy that focuses on not loosing your money.  He doesn’t like risk.  He likes to focus more on earning a good amount of money and then putting that money into investments that reduce the risk of loosing his capital.  While he may not get 25% returns he has focused on  a good way to get 8% to 12% consistently.

There are many great penny stock investing ideas but finding them can be tough. One tip I like to share is to stick with industries your are familiar with as it is easier to spot real opportunities.  Trusting a financial advisor isn’t always the best way to get accurate investing tips as they are compensated, many times, to suggest certain investments.  I like the approach of getting good investing ideas from someone who has made a decent return over the last three years and they actually own, or better yet recently purchased, the investment they are promoting. Makes sense, huh?
